Complete Computer System Clean

A complete Computer System Clean includes software and hardware.

If you think your computer has been compromised, immediately turn the power off the system or unplug the power and call a computer cleaning professional.

Computer Hardware Check

An internal air dust ensures cool and clean CPU, Video Card, and Power Supply. I verify that all fans are working correctly and that there are no problems inside that could cause failures down the road such as airflow blocks, overheating, wires loose or near fans, loose or failing hardware. Hardware such as hard drives are checked for impending failure and preventive measures are taken to secure your data for recovery. The Device Manager is checked to ensure that all necessary hardware has the correct driver to function.

I check that you have sufficient hardware to satisfy your use. Cost effective upgrades are suggested when their value makes sense to improve the use and experience of using your system.

Validate Windows Operating System (OS)

I verify that your Microsoft Windows OS and Office Suite is Valid and that the most current Service Pack (SPn) and Secuity Updates are installed to keep your computer protected.

Verify Windows Update and Firewall Settings

I verify that Windows Update is working correctly in both manual and automatic mode. I verify that the Windows Firewall is operating. I verify any current protection tools are necessary and up-to-date and are not causing any security conflicts. I verify that the system security, web browser, Registry, and System Restore are not compromised. I verify the current state of Antivirus and Antispyware protection (up-to-date and have a current and complete clean run).

System Clean - Remove Virus, Spyware, and Malware

Malicious software is any virus, spyware, malware, hijackers, or adware that have been installed on your machine that you did not solicite that has changed the configuration, security, or operation of your computer. The most common way malware installs are through 'pop up' ads suggesting you click a link to download a program to fix/clean your registry or system. In most cases the fix is added spyware or malware.

Malicious software and their root cause are detected, identified, and removed.

I evaluate the processes that are running for each user on a machine. Malicious processes are cleaned. Processes that are not necessary to run your system are uninstalled or prevented from running at startup to free memory and increase performance.

I evaluate the System Registry and System Restore for malcious software and identify and remove threats.

I evaluate Web Browsers for possible hijacking/redirecting and remove any tool bars that are malicious or not necessary.

Installed Programs that are not used any longer are identified and upon your approval are uninstalled. Possibly Unwanted Programs (PUPs) that are malicious in nature are identified and removed.

Internet Explorer/Web Browser settings are configured to protect your system to best prevent attacks and improve performance.

Temporary Internet Files, System Cache, and other Temp file folders on the system are cleared to prevent hidden malware from re-installing and enhance performance and productivity for each USER on the system.

System Protection - Antivirus and Antispyware

Antivirus and Antispyware software should be installed and up-to-date to keep your machine as safe and clean as possible from Viruses, Spyware, Malware, Adware, and Hijacking. Many software cleaning tools add to the problem of the machine rather than help when you are under attack. I evaluate the tools that are installed and clean the System Registry and System Restore to prevent malicious software from re-installing.

I do not prefer All-in-One pretection (Internet Security Suites) because if they are compromised then the whole tool is compromised. I prefer separate Antivirus and Antispyware protection because if one is compromised then the other will most likely let you know you are in trouble before much damage can be caused.

I prefer AVG for Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy for Antispyware. Both programs are FREE, provide great protection, and are the least intrusive to your system. A great balance for protection and performance.

System Restore

A System Restore includes the formating of the hard drive, OS installation (including Service Packs and Security Updates to current), Driver installation, System Protection and Basic Application installation and updates(Antivirus, Antispyware, Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader).

Unfortunately there are situations when a System Restore is necessary if a System Clean is not successful. If the infection of the system has corrupted the security and control of the PC then I suggest a System Restore. There is NO additional charge if the System Restore service stems from my suggestion after attempting a System Clean, no matter the hours I put in to a System Clean.

In these cases I will make the best effort to back-up and restore files that are important to you such as documents, photos, music, etc... Additional charges are related to Data Recovery and Data Transfer Services.
