Connect or network - Slow to Appear

I to had this problem to it seemed be a problem after the 5th or 6th connection was added. With 40 VPN connections I guess like me you work in IT support. Anyway this (which I found elsewhere on the web) seems to have fixed it for me even before I did the reboot at the end. 

>>Right click "Computer" >>Click "Manage" 
>>Under the "System Tools" section, Double click "Local Users and Groups" >>Click "Groups" 
>>Right click "Administrators" 
>>Click "Add to group..." 
>>Click "Add" 
>>Click "Advanced" 
>>Click "Find Now" 
>>Double click "Local Service" 
>>Click "Ok" 
>>"NT Authority\Local Service" should show up in the list now 
>>Click "Ok" >>Close Computer Management and reboot.

OR

SUCCESS!! I've got it working now.

It seems that I actually had to uninstall:
- Client for MS Networks
- File and Printer Sharing
- QoS packet scheduler
(could not uninstall TCP/IP)

Reboot, reinstall all again, and reboot again. Do this to both machines.

Now it works like a charm. Previous posts had recommended disabling and re-enabling these services, however, that alone did not work for me.
